Pumpkins...scary or happy?

What do you carve your pumpkins into? Do you make happy faces in them or make them scary to go along with Halloween? When I was younger we used to carve happy faces in them but we didn't think about what we were going to carve because we just had a great time doing it, and while we were carving my mom and dad would be roasting the pumpkin seeds for us! Though it would be interesting to know what people do/did!

Hello, We carve just the regular pumpkin faces and a few of our own. just the plain old regular pumpkin faces. kids love to carve their own pumpkins every year. bizmom24

i didn't really do it a lot when i was younger because my parents never really bought any kind of pumpkins but when i did do it with someone else we would carve a smile into the face with teeth and all of that, but at the same time at night with a candle in it it can be scary to some people, and then we would have pumpkin pie to go with it...i really liked it until the pumpkin went bad, it was fun though!

it was fun, thinking about it brings back many memories. we used to put a candle in it at night too and it made it look a little bit scarier with the teeth on the smile thanks for your response!

Definately scary faces!!! It's funny because the scary faces we carve into the pumpkins look more scary than some of these lame halloween decorations my kids are afraid of, but they are not at all of the pumpkins.
