If only the restaurant is serving a good meal and their service is good. Otherwise we just walked out of after paying the bill.

I generally do seeths, yes. If the person has made an effort then I will always leave something extra when I leave! I am sure that many of the staff rely very heavily on tips to support their incomes so it is only fair that if we have a pleasurable dining experience then we should reward the person that made it this way!

I was taught that if the bill includes a service charge we shouldn't really give any tips because the service charge covers for that. If the bill doesn't have one then that's the time you give a tip. However, there are situations wherein the person who served you goes that extra mile to make you feel comfortable or provides more service than what is required I provide tips too.

In China, we don't give tips in Chinese restaurants. However, people may give tips when they are in western restaurants.

I always give tips when I go out to eat at a restaurant. I just figure that in to how much money I need before I go. If I don't have enough to tip, the I don't eat at a restaurant. I used to be a waitress and I know how hard it is. You don't make but a couple of dollars an hour and you have to be on your feet like the whole time and deal with rude customers. It may not seem like a lot of work, but it can be stressful. However, if the waiter/waitress is really rude, then I may not. I mean, it is part of the job to be polite and hospitable.

Hi there. Like people have said - if the service is good i do leave tips, if not, i either don't or leave a small one. In any case i know from a friend that a standard tip should be about 10% because the tip is split (in case of food) to the waiter, the cook and someone i can remember

Hi seeths, If the service is good, yes we leave some tips! Some restaurant has already service charge when you get your bill, and some country tipping doesn't really work. I do give tips most of the time, except when I don't have a small change. Have a nice day.
