travelling with just enough money!

there's a tv show in malaysia called 'destinasi bajet' (budget destination) where the host travel around malaysia for 3n 2d trip with only myr300 (less than usd100) it includes the place to stay (budget hotels) meals, a list of activities and places to go and a souvenir (one small stuff like keychain or something if the budget is running low) but the expenses to reach the place and back to your hometown is not included in the price. still a good guide for cash-strapped people like me to have fun away from home

If you have experience in odd jobs, it can be done. I wouldn't think it would be as easy these days, because of the lack of jobs and most places wouldn't hire someone knowing they are only going to work for a short time (guess you really wouldn't have to tell them that part lol) I did meet a couple that was doing just that, but keep in mind it was back in the mid- to late 70's. They had bought a motorhome, so they didn't have to worry about hotel costs, and they would just do odd jobs in whatever town they were in, til they had enough money to move on to the next place. I would think you would want to make a little extra money, so that you had some until you got that next job in the next place. In these days and times, I'm not sure it would be a good idea, but it could be done.
