I am currently reading through Anne Rice's: Memnoch the Devil from her Vampire Chronicles and so far think it is excellent, and it has raised an interesting point about god.
In this book Anne Rice, or at least her thoughts or imagination, explain why god created the earth, humans etc. i have not finished reading this book yet but i think this idea is wonderfully original:
God created the universe to try and find out how he himself was created!
I also love her extremely descriptive style of writing, perhaps slightly more in depth than Stephen King.
I was wondering what other people thought about her writing, and about her 'theory of the universe' lol

I have read maybe the first book and a bit of the second, and then skimming through the rest. I believe four? Am I correct? An old friend of mine had them at her house as I had brought them there and her mother took them outside and kept them there, they got wet. Well to be honest, I was a bit upset but now I do not care as I do not want to pick the books up and read them again. I think that Anne Rice's take on why god created the universe is very interesting. I will admit that I enjoyed her descriptive styles of writing, but I am not sure if it equal to or surpassed Stephen Kings own writing style.
