No joke. As soon as I've been on the computer for more than 15 minutes it starts to smell very strong, I don't know how to describe this very well. It smells of metal or something similar.
If the PC in on for more than an hour it starts to get warm accompanied by the smell. Do you know what this is due to? Any help greatly appreciated.

It sounds like it is over heating which means that your Fan is probably not working check it and make sure it is not full of Dust but it does sound like it is over heating to me
I always used to clean the Tower out on the Inside every Month
But do check the Fan

There must be a wire that has burnt out. If you think it smells weird, you better turn off your computer and check where the smell coming from. TO make sure, contact a technician who is good with computers and let him check what could be wrong.
