My niece is going as a flyswatter.
She took a square piece of cardboard and marked it with masking tape in a checkerboard pattern and painted it. Cut out a hole for her face to fit through and is going to paint her eyes black around them and blood running from her mouth (squashed fly) and taped a piece of cardboard down the front as a handle.
It is really cute and original.
Happy Halloween

Here was our first idea that I liked but she changed it. She was going to wear a white sweat suit and pin laundry items to her (socks, pantyhose, hankies etc.) Spike her hair all up and mess it up and go as Static Cling!
Happy Haunting!

I'm not very crafty when it comes to Halloween costumes but I wish I was. My daughter (age 7) wanted to be Hannah Montana but I am glad her mind can be easily changed. Everything for that costume, I would've had to buy separate costing me about $40-$50! She's going to be a gogo dancer with a dress that comes just above her knees with high white boots. She likes the sleeves because they are long and they have pink feathers at the bottom. She also has a pink feather boa to go with it.
My 2 1/2 year old son is going to be Optimus Prime. I wanted to get a Pablo costume from the Backyardigans but couldn't find it anywhere. He's crazy about Optimus Prime though! They both looked really cute when they tried them on. I just wish I could make their costumes because sometimes they are a bit pricey! But Halloween only comes once a year and they keep their costumes and play dress up.
