Would YOU Do This?

Would you ever start a discussion just to help a friend with a dare? Would you consider this cheating? Do you think I should start one for the sole purpose of helping a friend? What is your take on cheaters? Do you dare your friends to do things and then sit back and watch them to see if they do it?

Yes I would help if the "dare" was without malice and was meant in an affectionate manner. I have been dared both on myLot and elsewhere. I tend to carry it through. The picture of me in a bra on my profile page is one such example. However, if things start to take an unfortunate turn I would immediately go the aid of the struggling "victim". You have to be fair in such things and I hate to see people slowly drowning.

LOL. Hmmm. I think that I was pretty scarred before then. That just helped cement my lunacy. With the help of my friends I'm slowly sinking down to dribbling status.

Too kind. What's this that it says on it "The State Insane Asylum - Austin". Come to Momma!

I would never even CONSIDER taking part in such a farcical practice. The fact that you are even questioning such an act is a testament to your very character. This is a warm and friendly community of like minded people and not a breeding ground for misguided attempts at sociological experimentation. People end up hurt and emotionally scarred. When will others realize this?? I never would have expected something like this from you Bo. I thought that I knew you. I really did.....

You may mock me all you wish but the consequences of actions like these will leave an indelible stain on your very soul! I feel like I should go and disinfect myself just for participating in such a discussion.

bo, I don't believe I would join in on a dare. This notion takes me back to teenhood. Even then dares were risky business in my opinion. Of course you have to understand that I was born with a yellow streak down my spine. If there was the slightest chance of a negative outcome, I scadoodled. leenie

leenie, very rarely do I actually START anything. I am usually behind someone else, watching and giggling, and egging on the person being dared. I wouldn't be behind anything that would intentionally hurt anyone, or come to a bad end. Sometimes the little kid in me just peeks her head out and I can't quite get her reigned back in*S*

Hey bo! Sure I would! I had a girlfriend dare me to something not that long ago and of course I did it! It really wasn't anything that bad. It was just to say something in front of a room full of people and she didn't think that I had the nerve to say it and I did! I would probably take the dare as long as it wasn't anything too weird or as long as it wasn't going to hurt anyone or hurt anyone that I cared about. As for cheating, that would all depend on what you call cheating. I don't mind bending the rules for a good cause!

Well, I am not sure this discussion is cheating, we will just have to see. As I said above, I am usually in the background egging things on, but, today, I just couldn't help myself.

I don't really like daring people to do things, because then they might dare me back. But if I know someone who should do something that would benefit them, I do not let them hear the end of it until they do it!

I think if I could choose the discussion topic I would...I'd pick something that I wanted to know about anyways. I wouldn't start one based on a lie for a dare or anything else. It makes me think about the discussion a guy started about how he was having s*x with his older aunt and should he use protection. It just sounded way too far fetched. Yeah, I heard about all those posts. This one is just a silly discussion that involved a harmless dare. It is over, no one was hurt, and we got some giggles. Thanks for responding*S*

hi bohemianheart no indeed i dislike cheating and cheaters I would not start a discussion solely to help a friend.let 'your friend start her own. I cannot condone cheating for any reason as it is still cheating. I dont dare my friends to dol things as I dislike that idea very much.

Hmm, well I don't know exactly what your talking about as this is vague and I haven't read many of your other discussions or responses, but I trust Irishfriendly, so, lol, go on and help a friend out. Oh yea, and I wouldn't say that starting a discussion is cheating as long a validity is involved....

It is rather vague, at the moment, isn't it? And, I am not sure it has a lot of validity. It was just something that seemed like a good idea, at the time.*S*

Ah the best ideas are the ones on impulse, you get to spend the next day in the slammer next to your accomplice saying "let's do it again!" or however that goes.. lol.

I dont think posting a valid discussion would be cheating, but I dont see how that would help a friend out. I think cheating is wrong just because it doesnt give a fair chance to those who are honest. I may dare friends to do things just for laughs but I would never suggest anything that would cause them or any other person harm.

Well, RDugas, there were only three people involved, and in a way, nobody was really going to lose, anyway. It was just amongst friends and......well, this was just a stupid discussion for the sake of the dare.*S* Thanks for replying, though.

That's ok, most people responding didn't really know either. It was kind of a joke, concerning a challenge issued to a friend. Welcome to my lot. Have fun.
