I am seriously thinking about taking some classes and getting a homestudy done. I would love to take in a little girl between the ages of 4 and 7. I have a daughter that is five almost six and she is contantly stating she would love to have a little sister. I grew up in a house of two brothers and had no sisters. I know that the desire for myself to have a sister was great but never happened. I want her to have a sister to talk to about different things and then when they grow up they could be the best of friends etc. However I know that fostercare can sometimes be difficult with guidelines etc so i am wondering what everyone's take on the whole idea is. I am perfectly capable of having more children however I feel that my best interest would be served by adopting a foster child. Thanks for any input.

There is a great need for quality foster care. It pays well too. I know a woman who does foster care and takes in 3-4 kids at a time. She holds a part-time job. Being a foster parent is a very rewarding job. I wish I had the space for it myself. I would love to take kids in. Adopting is another issue. You have to be 100% sure that you can provide for this child. Many come with health and emotional issues that can disrupt a family.
