I usually have my old cell phone around for backup as well but in 2 weeks or so, I'd just sell it for a cheap price so I could have extra money for other important stuff. I rarely buy new phones though. I've only changed cell phones 3 times so far and all my old phones have been sold.

There are many charities that take used cell phones. There is one for soldiers where for every old cell phone turned in they will send a soldier a phone card. You can also get points for donating them Swagbucks, they will give you points for giving them your old phone.

I sell it to a cellphone repair shop and spend the money. Sometimes I keep it and still use it using another telecom provider. Have a nice day.

The cell phones that I don't need, I donate to an animal conservation place. They take those old cell phones that I no longer use and donate them to senior citizens to use when they need to call 9-1-1. Not only am I helping the environment by keeping it out of the landfills (oh don't get me wrong, i'm not a huge 'green' person), but I also help someone who may need it more than I do. Another perk of donating it is that it goes toward your admission to the animal conservation wildlife drive-through.

Yeah, I have a lot lying around and I have a bunch of my old pics which I wouldn't want to dispose of. My workplace has a recycling center which I can bring it in since this going 'green' is the new fad for corporate life. With over 5, I collected a camera phone museum. :P
