Help!! I need suggestions on how to keep my house clean.

I feel like I am constantly picking stuff up, but my house is almost always a disaster. How do you get your family to pick up after themselves?

I wish I could help, but I am in the same position. My son refuses to put clothes in the hamper. Now he leaves glasses and dishes in his room. My boyfriend leaves clothes and garbage around the house, which I have to pick up. I don't think they ever learn....

Sounds familiar. I was hoping that they would learn what a garbage can is for, but I've about given up.

I tell my kids to either clean up or no goodies for the rest of the night. That usually does it for my kids. My hubby is a neat freak so he cleans up after himself all the time.

I can usually get the kids to pick up by threatening to take things away, but my hubby is no help at all. He will put things down, and they will stay there until I pick it up. The kids see that and question why dad doesn't have to pick up. Drives me crazy.

Only wash YOUR dishes, only do YOUR laundry, only cook for YOU. (and of course feed your pets, but nothing else) If you work full time, you should'nt have to be the maid/butler. IF your husband/wife is kind enough to pay your way in life,to where you don't have to work, then I guess your obligated to clean up after him/her, but your kids can learn good habits. If it gets too out of control, they will HAVE to wash a dish if they don't want to eat off of dirty plates.
