Hi all, I've just read "The broken window" by J. Deaver and I have to say that I've found it very good. I've read all the Rhyme-Sachs books and I think that the last books were a bit monotone. The stories were nice but always the same, except for "The Vanished Man" that I also found really good. But this one was better than the others and it could keep my interest, so if you like Deaver's novels you shouldn't miss this one.

What genre does he write in and could you give me more info on the book "The Broken Window" I am looking for more books to add to the collection of my fiance and I. If you have any titles you could recommend i'd be greatly appreciated. If you know of any Old West type novels then I would also enjoy information about them as well.

Hi, sorry, I don't know any novel in that genre but maybe I can recommend you "Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee" by Dee Brown. It's about Indians History and you should find it interesting. Talking about "The broken window", it is a thriller. You know... old story where detectives are trying to catch a serial killer (which in this case is using data miner companies to study victims identity), but in the Lincoln Rhyme saga the detective is a quadriplegic that is working with agent Amelia Sachs by guiding her on the crime scene with his voice. If you don't know this author you could read "The bone collector" which is the first novel where they appear.

Hmmm the bone collector sounds familiar but the book series you've described sounds interesting. I will check it out sometime today if I get a chance, I appreciate all the recommendations on it!

Maybe you heard about the movie with Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie. It's pretty nice but the book is better ;)

I am not sure why, but I wasn't too impressed with The Broken Window. I've read all of Deaver's Rhyme books, and it's not one of my favorites. The book didn't "shock" me unlike the others. My first favorite was The Empty Chair, but then I read the Vanished Man and loved it so that's my favorite Deaver/Rhyme book so far.
