Where are you able to read?

My mum said she has to take my niece to a ballet class so I suggested she took a book to read whilst she waited for her. She said that hearing all the mums chat she wouldn't be able to concentrate on her reading. I can read in a busy room whilst waiting for someone or something to happen. I am keen on traveling so I have developed patience and think reading a book is a great way to kill time.
I can read on a train or a plane but not on a bus on in a car because I would feel travel sick. I like to sit on my sofa at home to read a book. Sometimes I can read outside like sitting on a pier on a sunny afternoon.
Where are you able to read? Busy places? Quiet locations?
Which sorts of transport can you read on?

I guess my concentration skills are very poor and low because if there's any noise, be it the television, radio, music playing then believe me I cannot read and find myself reading the same line over and over again, so I give up. I have to have complete quiet to be able to read and take it in. Even in the Summer months I cannot go into the garden as I hear kids shouting or screaming, or lawnmowers on or any disturbance and that's it. So you can understand that I don't read much! Mind you my reading time is taken up by the amount of time I spend on the computer. However I can read on trains and planes which with everything going on around me is surprising!

I usually read in bed, sometimes in a hot bath, on the couch, on the porch, at a cafe having a nice coffee and spoiling myself LOL I can't read on the bus nor train - get headaches when I do.

I am able to read anywhere anytime. If someone else don't grap the book from my hand...lol

I take a book with me while waiting in the doctors office. Sometimes if we make a trip to the book store, I'll read there. That's what those big comfy chairs are for! But the best place is in bed, while my hubby types away at his laptop.

First of all I have to comment on the rhyming you did when stating where you can read, as I myself thought of Dr. Seuss. Lol, I suppose it's just the inner child coming out to play. Now in any case, I am more of one that likes to read in a silent place as well and can not read while moving. I can read while walking but not while riding in a car as it makes me feel sick and I get a sudden headache that won't usually go away without air conditioning and the vehicle being stopped so I can get reoriented. That being said sometimes I get a bit motion sick but often and for this I will knock on wood.

It has to be deadly quiet for me to really enjoy reading. I am a fairly slow reader and like to take it all in so find up in my bedroom or out in the garden are the ideal places to do this.
Like you I do get queezy reading books in cars or on buses but trains and planes are fine.

I can read a book and enjoy it even if it is very noisy around me... i taught myself how to do that... because in the past... my room is at the back of a club... so it tends to be very noisy at night...
But i can never read properly while on a moving vehicle... even on an airplane or a ferry when the water is very calm... i tend to get dizzy when i try to read even just a few sentences...

I enjoy reading anywhere. Busy places and quiet locations alike. I can read on all forms of transportation. I don't like to be caught without a book on hand in case I find myself with some time to kill.

My mom and I can read anywhere, well except in moving vehicles for me but that's because it makes me car sick, but I know several people that say they have to have quiet to read. I can read in about any situation, but I suppose I prefer quiet.

Hi Maxi. Nice to see you. I like reading books and magazines while traveling. Yes, in a quiet environment , so I can concentrate on what I am reading. It is enjoyable to read on airplane flights , especially on long flights.
At home, I would sit down in my garden over the weekends and enjoy reading newspapers, magazines, and story books.

I can read in most places except a car - it doesn't matter if it's noisy or quiet! I tedn to read on a plane most out of all travelling modes as it passes so much time and have even started and finished a book on a flight before now!!

I do read where ever I can. I read in waiting rooms. Sometimes when I drop my daughters off early for soccer (they have to be there 1/2 hour to 45 minutes before game time to practice and warm-up), I will stay in the van to read and then get out at game time. I did read in the stands once but I get distracted. I also felt a bit snobby. I know all the other parents and I felt like I was ignoring them hiding behind a book (figuratively speaking). I can see where it would be distracting for your mum with all the other mothers chatting away. Depending on how busy and loud it is. I have no problem reading in a waiting room or on public transit. But I can be nosy too and spend more time looking and listening to what's going on around me than actually reading. LOL!
