What Wars have they fought in?
My grandfather retired from the Army. He as in World War II and Korean war. He has been gone for about 4 yrs. now.
My Real Father Retired from the Air Force. I know he at least served in Vietnam. He died 3 yrs. ago from Cancer.
And then my husband's nephew is in the Army, and served in IRAQ for a short time.
I am proud to have these people in my family, and know they are who keep us FREE.

Well, your grandfather was in the Military, so that is something. He still defended everyone even if he was not in a War.

No problem. Sometimes people just feel they are not cut out for this type of thing.

We should be Proud of the people in our Family who are currently serving, or who have. They are what protect us from things that we have no control over. And if they die a Hero, that should make us more proud that they have served.

Navy would be an interesting one since you spend a lot of time on a ship.

You should be proud of them, and support them for their service they are doing for your country. I feel this is an Honor for people who do this, even when many lives are at stake.

Several uncles served in World War II, one of whom ended up as a prisoner of war in Changai. Another stayed on in the Royal Australian Navy till the late 1950's. A couple of cousins were also in the Royal Australian Navy, as was my husband, our son and myself. My husband saw active service in the Malaya/Borneo Conflict and Vietnam.
Yes, I am very proud of all of them for their service to our country, Australia.

Where to start. My Grandfather came over from Germany and refused to fight in World War 2 because of his family over there. He was however a patriot in his own way to his new country. His first son joined the army and server in Vietnam. He was wounded and was returned home. He was never right. The way the people treated him when he got home was terrible. My husband was in the army as well. He served in Korea. He was also released because of a disability. My brother in law was a member of the Rangers. He jumped out of perfectly good aircrafts. He also is out on disability. I have several nephews that went into the Marines, Army and Airforce. I have one nephew who is the black sheep of the family because he went into the Navy. He served in the Gulf war. He got out when his hitch was over. When the was in Iraq started he wanted to go back in but they said he was too old now. I have nothing but respect for the men and women who are putting their life on the line so we do not have to. I am proud to be an American. I am proud to say the pledge of allegance and say under god.
