hahaha!! I never experienced wearing costume during Halloween. Some people do specially the kids. I could not get why these people have felt the thrill in their hearts on this season why they really like to wear those ugly faces and ghostly attire? do they want to appear scary? or they would play a ghost thing? Well, what I know in my country is that.. Halloween time is ALL SOULS DAY as we call it there.
So, people are celebrating the day of the dead.. souls of the dead? as what they call it. The reason why some people wear mask of ugly faces,to remind everybody that it is the day of the ghost, souls of the dead..
I don;t like to appear like ghost, which I never see how it looks hahaha.... those y=ugly faces are nuts.. for me. do you plan to wear costumes this coming Halloween?

I'm going to be the Joker, like Heath Ledger in the Dark Knight movie. A lot of small children here don't dress scary, they dress as fairies or princesses or puppies or kittens. They are so cute! I also love seeing teenagers being scary, because it is thrilling. You have to try it to understand! It is my favorite holiday.

No, not a costume. It's hard enough to get the kids their costumes. Those never fit right and need alterations:( By the time I'm done with that I don't want to think about anything for myself.
Where I come from we don't celebrate Halloween. Kids get dressed up for "Karneval", which is around the Mardi Gras time. They go from door to door and ask for candy at that time, but that is also only limited to the area where I come from not all areas of the country.
I never liked wearing anything with a mask. But I'm open for most anything else as long as it is not too revealing, lol.

I never desire to look ugly so if ever I would wear mask... I'd prefer face of angels or face of Cinderella or Snowhite. Why should I cover my beautiful face with an ugly one! (ha!ha!ha! I hope you agree!) If ever I'd disguise into another person, I'd make sure it's a prettier one. I hate ugly and ghostly attire. Even when I have not yet read and known that those Halloween celebration is Africa's way of celebrating their god which is the devil... I never really enjoyed seeing those ugly masks flooding the market when All Souls or All Saints Day is about to be celebrated. So when one time my son who was then a kid...asked me to buy one... I told him " No son. Don't desire to wear those ugly faces. Do you like to be ugly?" He said No so I told him, "then don't ask me to buy ugly masks again. I'd buy you masks of Superman or mask of any handsome superhero but not the ghostly ones."
To me All Souls Day should not be pictured as day of the ghosts. It is not a day we should celebrate for those demonic looking creatures because in the first place we never pictured our departed loved ones as looking demonic now that they are far and beyond. We should rather take this day as the day to remember them but never to join in Halloween parties and play the character of ugly and ghostly creatures.

hahaha!! I definitely agree with you my friend. that's right!! why should you cover your beautiful face with ugly one?? hahaha... But you know what? people here in America used to wear costumes. It is a big deal to them. They will wear not only a mask on their faces but.. full costume. I mean dresses too? You can never tell who they are hahahah... of course this is the great day for kids to go around and give candies to people in the neighborhood. But adults also love to do that. hahaha you just make me laugh when you said, it is a demonic celebration.. yes, I agree when they wear scary mask? they look like demonic... which is not suppose to be the real picture of our loved ones who passed away. I never joined Halloween parties where people wear demonic costumes.. hahahah they are just inviting the devil to come and join.

Well my mates brothers birthday happens to fall on halloween every year and this year we're all getting dressed up in costumes then hitting the town clubbing. I've got my heart set on being a devil...red horns, tail, pitch fork...reckon i'd make quite a good devil.

I plan to dress up this Halloween. Halloween is a time to dress up in something you would normally never wear (or never wear in public). You can act dumb running around as ghost or show off you body as a sluty school girl. Basically the American Halloween is mix of all shorts of different beliefs from other countries.

Hi Che,
You can not see most of them in the Mall hahahaha... like in the Philippines? hot here!!! you can see kids visiting houses wearing their costumes and bringing baskets of candies to give to people. they will be accompanied by adults too. they will knock on doors.. hahaha I've seen that last year. This is common if you are living in the apartment or in a subdivision... or village. well, I did not see in the mall because I'm not at the mall often. good luck.

I love to dress up for Halloween. It is just fun. Hubby and I have always dressed up just to give out candy.... before we even had kids.
My son is dressing up as a doctor..... scrubs, white lab coat, stethoscope, doctors bag, etc. It is cute.
I am looking into going as a patient.... hospital gown, and an IV bag on a rack that I can push around the neighborhood.
My husband always goes as a baseball player. It is a family joke, we keep thinking he will surprise us and switch it up one year. But he never does. I think we will at least have to be a baseball player with an injury for our son to treat. Heehee

here in the Philippines wearing costumes is not really the big deal.. Although there some people who would prefer to wear that ugly faces but not so popular in all places. Most that you can see are the people in the cemetery. they will make tents and t=stay overnight there, palying games, drinking and having fun with family and friends and they said it's good to spend night with their loved ones on their graves. That's their tradition.

Yes I do plan to wear a costume this halloween. In America wearing a costume is the biggest tradition of Halloween. I always wore one as a kid and went trick-or-treating with family and friends and had a blast. In my young teen years, however, I thought I was too cool or grown up to wear a costume so I did not wear one on Halloween for several years but now I have got back into the whole spirit of things again and wear them to costume or halloween parties in general. They are always fun and create a great atmosphere on Halloween at parties or for the kids trick-or-treating.

I sure do! I love dressing up and for me the thrill of it is in making up my own costume and disguising myself so that no one recognizes me. I usually have a haunted house through the front yard and the brave ones who make it through get candy at the exit. Actually Halloween the the eve of saint's day which is on November 1. That's my birthday so the celebration continues! Have a great one!

Halloween in the U.S. has become a night of dressing up and getting candy...nothing more. My kids never went for the ghost or scary costumes...they preferred the popular super heros of the time. This year my older grandson will be dressed as a ninja, my younger grandson will be Spiderman and my baby graddaughter will be Snow White. I will be the driver and my daughter will be the kids wrangler.
