No, the American dream is not just a dream. It starts with figuring out what you want to do for a living, followed by getting the education or training that you need or getting an entry level position if there are no educational requirements. This is followed by a good work ethic and working hard at your job. If you do that and become good at what you do, you will advance in your profession. If your profession is in a technical field, making sure that you stay current on the latest upgrades and advancements will also help. You also need to get into the habit of saving some money from every pay check. Grow your savings, establish your credit and, eventually you will be able to buy a house.

You could save up money and visit America on a holiday to see how much you like it. I have been to California three times and loved it. In the future I would like to go to Boston, New York, Washington DC, Florida and Seattle. I would fly there and the travel around by train. I suggest you go to an immigration show. In my home country there is one every year and it has tips on emigrating to the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand. You could go to your local library and borrow books about the USA. Good luck and I hope the your American dream will come true.
