I want to make some things for my family for Christmas gifts because I will not have a lot of money. I want to be given some ideas of things that I can make from odd things that usually get thrown away.
I have a lot of glass jars that I have saved from spaghetti sauces, salsas, etc. i also have a ton of t-shirts that noone wears.

Do you like to cook or bake? Empty jars can be filled with all sorts of yummy things for a nice gift! Homemade sauces, salsa, pickles, apple sauce, jam, or dry pre-measured cookie or brownie mix that they just add water to and bake...
Those old t-shirts can be a fun crafty project too, try googling T-shirt reconstruction. Or check out books like "Generation T", or "99 ways to cut, sew, trim, and tie your t-shirt into something special". I had a bunch of old large unisex t-shirts from university, and I've been reconstructing them into really funky, unique form-fitting shirts for myself!
