How are you going to heat your home this winter?

My apartment is heated with gas. I know sounds pretty expencive except for the fact that the man I rent from pays our gas and water bills. I know it is a good thing that I don't have to pay for it and I will still be able to stay as warm as I want with out having to worry about the cost.

That is one thing I did miss about renting, when the heat was included. It was one less worry on my mind. I'm glad to own a place now though.

Same as every year, by electricity. Hope the winter will be mild and short this year. Then it won't cost as much and the heating bill will be reasonable. I'm going to do a lot of warmup exercises. That should keep the body heat at a comfortable level. Maybe I'll visit a lot of friends and use their heating system.

I'm with you there on a short and mild winter this year. It would be nice seeming last winter was a doozy. I know a few people who also do that to, go visiting friends and vice versa.

I've been trying not to think about that, but it's cooling off fast for fall- in an effort to reduce the heating bill we try to leave the thermostat off as often as possible. I only turn on the heat when I am going to be home and active for a while, it goes off at night and when I leave for work (no point wasting energy heating an empty house!) We also try to dress in layers and warm clothing so we can keep the programmable thermostat set lower, to use less heat. We have electric forced air heating, so it can warm up the house pretty quickly, but we're really trying to use it less and reduce the hydro bill!

We do the same exact thing in our household to. Extra layers, turn off the emergency burner switch, anything to be conservative.
