Have you ever knocked your computer over onto the floor?

About two years ago, I accidentally tipped
over my computer tower and it fell onto the floor.
Lucky for me, the tower was already sitting
on the floor, so it didn't have too far
to fall.
I thought the computer was alright.
But, about a week later, it stopped working.
Have you ever knocked your computer over into the floor
or accidentally messed up your computer?

I've had my computer for a little over three years. It's a laptop mind you so you would think at least sometime in there I would have dropped or knocked my computer off of something. I never did however, but my partner did.
We had things packed up to make a trip home from school one weekend. Our laptops were in their own separate laptop bags on the kitchen table. Well, she pulled a bag from the table that my laptop was leaning against and my laptop toppled to the floor from about a height of two or three feet maybe more.
However, I think because my laptop was in the bag it saved it from dying. It still works and this was a few months ago so I got lucky.

Wow! You're lucky!
Those computers are ultra
sensitive.
Though I've heard they make a laptop
with technology that prevents it from
breaking if it falls.
Somehow it senses that it's falling
and locks down to prevent system damage.
Would love to have one of those.

Nope. Thankfully that has never happened to me. My laptop stays in a padded case when I am not using it.

I'm still not sure how it happened.
I pulled on a cord and the thing toppled
over.

No,but its always something I dread happening ,but I have a lap top and ive a bad habit of putting it down on the floor underneath my coffeee table,I know I hear you say, what a silly thing to do,but its just there when I go back to it.There has been the odd occasion when I have stood up and then caught my foot in the lead, then I have nearly gone head over heels.I am sure that is how my last laptop broke down, the power socket at the back has worked itself loose and I have taken it to the computer repair shop to find that they have quoted around one hundred gpb to repair it,so you would think that that would cure me.But on the whole the towers seem to be a lot more durable than the laptops.
