Newbie on site

Hi, I'm new here. My last kid just got married, my wife is leaving me, my parents have gone gaga, my dog is in the doghouse and my truck broke down. So I'm lonely and bored and life pretty much sucks. How's your week going? Can you cheer me up? Would you even want to? Not that I really care, but the only toy I have left besides my powertools, is my computer, so here's your chance to make it worthwhile.

Wow, what an introduction! I don't have anything to say that will cheer you up, but as you don't really care, what's the point? However, I do want to welcome you to mylot. I hope you will enjoy it here, even with everything that you have been through.

I didn't expect to really be welcomed here, but as my wife never fails to tell me, I'm often wrong. So thanks for the response and if other people here are as friendly I'll try to curb my sarcasm and be cheered up.

Your life sounds just like a country song. No offense. Perhaps you will be able to find some interesting discussions here to take your mind off things. If nothing else it will give you a place to vent about all the things that are going wrong. At least you didn't say you have lost a fortune in the stock market. I hope you didn't and now I just reminded you of another bad thing. Anyway, welcome to the site.

Oh god the stock market. Well the wife'll have to take the losses on that because she gets the stock portfolio. Serve her right if it tanks. My life sounds like a country song? You're right. It does. Guess those old country songs aren't so far off the mark then huh? Good call mscott. You just cheered me up.

There seems to be a lot of people here who think alike. That's a good thing I suppose, or like a marriage, the longer I'm here the more I'll become like everyone else? I hope not. That would make me more boring than I already am:)

Welcome to mylot! I am sure you will lots of fun here. As you already know, I have had a rough week with "the boy", but that pales in comparison to what you are currently going through right now. Things will work out the way they are supposed to. Keep a positive outlook and and you will come through this smelling like sawdust and GOJO!
