hey, friends here, wt's the operation system of ur computer?
The OS of my laptop is Vista. Many of my friends told me giving up Vista, turn to XP. While, at the first period, i really found it unconvenient to use Vista. Bcz of its unperfectable compatibility.
Many monthes later, i think Vista is also superb.
do u use Vista? how do u think it?
thank you for sharing

My now is vista.
I bought a new cmputer last month, while the saleman gave me the vista operation system as a gift.
To say the truth, I prefer xp than vista. for i think vista cost too much memory and run slower than xp.
But as my new computer is not suit for the xp system, I have to use vista now.

It seems that my computer can not run xp well, more often is the software problems. The software of my mainbroad is much senior than some in xp, so that the xp can not function well in my desktop.
While it is said that now, mocrosoft did something to pirate xp. So I think I have to stick to the vista.

i'm using Vista in my lappy right now. Vista and XP both have pros and cons:
Vista is more secure, definitely secure! you could use this OS without having to install any anti virus. Yes, that's what i'm doing and I haven't experienced any viruses as of this moment.
XP is great in terms of applications compatibility. Almost all applications can be installed using Windows XP, yes it's the most stable operating system from Windows.
currently, i'm having a problem with my Vista; I cant seem to install Flash Player..T_T

Hmmm i never faced that problem, are you installing flash player for your internet explorer or firefox or ...
And i have run a Windows 95 application on Vista which did not run in XP under normal mode, but ran in compatibilty mode, but vista itself made the setting for that application and ran that application..
so i like vista...

Hello babyorchid. A while ago i bought my lap top computer and i had the same problem so when i got to the store in order to buy one i ask the seller about and he told me that it would be better for me to buy the XP OS than Vista because i had old material and devices generally installed that propably wouldn't work normaly with Vista version. So i checked that by talking with some good people and a little later i decide to buy XP. Of course since then a lot time has pass and maybe the today situation is different. Actually based on your needs, i think so.

Hi there. I use vista but I haven't discovered what's the vantages of this system but takes too much memory. I am also considerate to remove vista and turn to XP, which I've used to. The sale person installed vista for me when I bought my laptop 5 months ago and at that time vista was pretty popular.
People also say that it's not good for to re-intall the system so maybe I will just go on with vista!

Vista is really good operating system, it is 37% more secure than Xp, its immune to many virus which used to infect Xp. i use Vista without any extra antivirus installed.
Only Problem is Vista Consumes Lots of Ram, Well this problem is Fixed in next Operating System Known as Windows 7 or Windows Vienna.
Happy Myloting..
take care.

I have my laptop and desktop. I used Vista for the former and XP for the latter. I'd like them both although I just need to reformat my desktop due to full memory and some viruses. After that, I will install XP on it coz for me it is more convenient to use this OS on this device. On my laptop, yes Vista consumes larger memory space but its ok since I only used my laptop for my work. I don't want to change its OS since it is original laptop software. I just have to choose which device I want to use and viola! my work is done for the day! (^o^)

hi! i still use xp on my old acer laptop.. but recently i got a hp desktop with vista home premium and a macbook with mac os x leopard..
of the 3, i think mac os x is the easiest to use.. vista is trying to copy some of the features of mac.. keep trying.. hehehe... now i'm planning to replace my hp with mac mini...
between xp and vista? vista is better.. if you have a higher specs processor and memory.. get at least an intel core2duo and 2gb ramm...

I don't use Vista now and I am not going to try it, at least in a year or two. I have heard tons of complaints from my friend concerning the poor compatibility of vista and unreasonable high requirement for hardware configuration. Most software companies have to work on their new products again only to make them operational on Vista. Microsoft has definite overestimated the potential for hardware development, many low-end and even middle-end computers can barely reach the minimum requirements of vista. I think I will wait for at least one year to give up Win XP and try a new operation system. BTW, it is said that Microsoft is considering a new operation system to replace Vista around 2010 owning to the unsatisfactory reputation of Vista.

If you know how to use vista, It was simply great. If you don't know what is the difference between XP and Vista, then vista is a little uncomfortable. I had vista in my pc and XP in my laptop. When it comes to vista, I love Vista aero feature which makes vista different from other operating systems. But the bad thing is vista needs high conmfiguration system to work properly.

Hi there babyorchid;
I have Vista and I love it. I have used computers that have Xp on them and I must say I did not care for it. I guess whatever works for the person is what they should use. My computer had Vista on it and I have been using it for over a year now so I plan on sticking with it for awhile. Take care and happy mylotting to you as well.
