I do, but i don't know until when should i stop doing so. My baby is one year old already and my sister in law told me to just wash his feeding bottles and sterilize just once a week for it takes up to much time to sterilize them everyday. I could not decide to do so yet because it has becaome part of my daily habit. I even include the cups of my two year old. When you had a baby, for how long did you sterilize feeding bottles daily?

I never sterilized the baby bottles I washed them as I washed my own dishes. Honestly I came to believe that if you go overboard your child is more prone to get sick. A child builds up an ammune system, that is like do you always have your children wash thier hands the second they are dirty? Are you the type of parent that carries around wipes when they are at the park. All I know is that I have 5 children with very minimal trips for sick calls. My last two children are 17 and 8 My oldest having one trip to the doctors for being sick and it was gastritis, my 8 year old has yet to had to go for a sick call. Not that he hasnt had a cold, he has but nothing that mandated him to go to the doctors.

My children are quite healthy too. It's just that when they were born, i was given a baby book by their pediatrician and has everything there written about baby-care. That included sterilizing bottles. But it did not specify as to when one should stop and opt for just washing them normally. I am the kind of mom who just probably care too much about my babies' health and all but i am also well aware that their body should get to use their natural immune system so i let them play n the sand, roll on and even lick the kitchen floor, eat with their hands. But there is also a time to wash their hands and a time to be clean. I keep the balance pretty well and i am glad they are healthy. So i think i should now stop sterilizing these bottles. Thanks!

I think until they were 2.. I really don't remember but what i do remember though is I bought a lot of bottles so I will only sterilize it less, like two to three times a week. Just always keep in mind that before you give your one year old anything make sure it is sterilized. it really is hard living with in laws right?

Thanks for your advise pehpot. I find it a little difficult living with them but i think they are great. At least we have some "sharing" of ideas about child care.

Hi pinky I have little idea, since I am not a mom but I have seen my sister sterilising on automated steriliser everyday, with all bottles together till my nieces are 1 year old may be. But I think after that she had started slowly on the washing in hot water thing. I think, wE will have to just wait for others responses for proper responses.
