travelling alone

I love travelling. It is in my blood. I have always travelled with family or friends before but for the past few years I find it more and more difficult to get others to participate as they will always have other programmes and plans to reckon with. As such I have developed the culture of travelling alone! If I do not do this, I would never be able to move. Depending too much on others involvement, I could get nowhere and my dear legs can hardly be still for long. Yes I do travel alone BUT not exactly alone, I will always join a group of holiday makers. This way, I would not be exposed to dangers and problems. There would be some 20 - 30 other travellers on the trip and usually, everyone is very nice to each other save for one or two. It is fun too because you get to move around without hindrance. But when it comes to taking photographs or when you get really excited on seeing something, and you need to voice it loud, then thats a problem. You are practically by yourself because others will be away in pairs or groups. But so far many are kind enough to help me with photo taking and other nitty gritties and I get invited to join some groups too, which I politely declined. Well have you guys travelled alone? What are the problems you face besides having no one to share your delightful experience and momements..and having to scout around for fellow travellers assistance to take your photographs. Maybe you have some humorous experience to share when travelling alone? I have many but for the moment I would love to read yours:)))

I have experience travelling alone. Its ok to travel alone by land or by plane. You could see many places, places that you could only see in tv or movies. but travelling alone by sea, for it is boring, you could see water, some silhouette of mountains and some little ship, at night you could only see stars. Happy mylotting!!

though i have no enough chance to travel, because i am a student in a college now,i always dreaming to travel to the places i like.i think i also like travelling lonely,if you travel with other people, you have to stay with them all the time and you have no chance to go the small places that you want to see, then you will have a unhappy trip,i think nobody will like this trip.if you are taking a one person trip, there is no engagement, you can go any places you like, only you go to the small places you like, can you have a good mood and have a good trip. i want my first real trip to go to Tibet by driving my own car,it will be a long trip,i think i will enjoy myself then.

I really love traveling and in the past I so very much enjoyed traveling alone. I went around the world for just over one year when I was 20. My sister came to California with me then I continued my journey and she went back home. I visited Hawaii next, then Australia, then Singapore, popping over to Indonesia and Malaysia. I went to New Zealand on my own for a few months when I was 30. I stopped off it French Polynesia, the Cook islands and Samoa. I met other travelers in backpacker hostels and made many new friends. Sometimes I traveled for a few days with new friends that I had made in Australia and we had a wonderful time. I traveled alone to the Maldives and felt that mostly it was couples and not my nationality. The first island I went to it was mostly Italian and a few other Europeans like Belgium. The second island I went to it was mostly German with some Russians. I am an independent traveler and I stay in locally owned guest houses most often. These days I travel with my toddler son but I fondly remember the delight of traveling alone in my younger days.
