There are many movies with good messages. It is all about us taking the message or not.

I watch a lot of horror movies. Here is what I've learned. 1-Do not go camping if you are a) a nerd B)A bimbo C) A creep or D)In any way annoying. 2-If there is a noise outside, lock the door, cover the windows, call the police, and hide. Do not ask who is there or assume someone is playing a prank on you. 3-When being attacked by a crazed killer, monster, alien, or whatever, don't stand there screaming "No" or "Get away from me" They almost never listen. 4-When running through the woods with lots of fallen branches, don't look back. And pick up your feet. 5-When the locals tell you not to go somewhere, LISTEN TO THEM. 6-Never wear sexy lingerie when you go camping. 7-If you enter a house and a disembodied voice says "Get out!", get out. Things that are almost always bad omens: Flies on windows Bees on anything Bricked-up fire-places Bricked-up rooms Realtor won't show you section of house, like attic, crawlspace, or living room. multi-million dollar mansion on sale for $80.00 Crosses painted all over the place.

Scene from the movie Blood Diamond - scene from the movie Blood Diamond
Well I do watch lots of movies and I'm sure I've learned a lesson from many more but I can only think of two. I learned the great message of Paying it Forward from the movie Pay it Forward. That movie had such a good lesson in it that I hope inspired many people to live their lives in such a manner. In Blood Diamond (one of my favorite movies),I learned that before you buy diamonds you should ask where they came from. Now I'm not in the habit of buying diamonds but if I ever do, that movie will be resounding in my head and I'll have to ask where they got their diamonds in order to satisfy my conscious. Thanks for the great topic, different from most movie posts on here, it made me think.

There have been many movies as well as many books that I read for entertainment or historical purposes that have made an impact on me with the message that is subtly inbedded in them. The Matrix is definitely an example. The message being nothing is as it seems. I look for something deeper in everything now. I recently finished a fictional book that was very dismal and depressing. But I took from it a message of peace and hope from some advice that was given to one of the main characters of the book, even though the message was lost on the character. I have come to look for the message in art.
