Any reasons for a mosquito to buy some people more often?

Mosquitoes especially like some people and they bite them more often than other people. Are there any specific reasons for it? Is this because these people digest faster than others? Or mosquitoes especially like to bite people have blood type B?

Did you mean to say bite rather than buy my friend? I had visions of mosquitoes going around the shops with their little trolleys LOL! Sorry to jest, they always bite me! I have tried eating garlic and yet they still bite! I guess my blood is sweet for them and they keep coming back for more, I swear they carry straws with them to drink my blood! I hate them, I now use citrus candles to stop them coming in and pestering poor Wolfie. None of my other family members get bitten by them, just me, not fair is it?

Oh, I think I must be very tired now. I should double check my discussion and I am sorry that I made a mistake. You know I meant "bite" If I am nearby you, I wonder who will be the mosquito's favorite

I'm not really sure why mosquitos bite some people more than others, however I do know that there are several skin creams including Avon's Skin So Soft, which acts as a repellant and mosquitos have an aversion to. I suppose that a lot of body creams might have too much perfume for mosquito's palates. Anyway, I'm one of those they love, but then again, I live in their perfect enviornment so maybe they are trying to chase me out!

Mosquitoes, I am told are attracted to the carbon dioxide a person gives off. I also have been told that people who have eaten more sweets get bitten more. Eating garlic or onions is supposed to repel mosquitoes.

Mosquitoes have an ability to detect temperature difference between people. They always prefer warmer body to bite. They can locate people in dark by CO2 and body temperature. If you have 2 people in the same room, person with higher body temperature will get all bites.

Hi youless, I am type B as well as my Sister but she don't suffer any mosquito bite, I do know really what's the reason behind this! I hate it and I remember before in the apartment we were renting, I have to put some lamp or candle under the table so that I can concentrate eating without any mosquito biting me!

So it has no relationship with the blood type.

Well Youless I live in a place infested with mosquitoes,so I am sure I can give you some expert advise on this topic....ha..ha.... Well there is no such person as mosquito pron person ,nor do mosquitoes check the blood type of people before having their fill. But it so happens that when a person is subject to mosquito bite for a long period of time,he or she will get used to it,and will not feel the bite.Burt when a new person arrives in that area,he will be immediately attacked and will react quickly to the bite, making the more "experienced "people to comment that he is more pron to mosquito bite.

Those may be factors, but also some people use things that will attract them them perfume, soap, deodorant, some more than others, and some without even thinking. When bitten often by mosquitos, step back and ask yourself what you might have done to attract them, or when going near bugs, make a point to be as "natural" and unscented as possible.

Hi youless, I notice that mosquitoes like to bite guests who visit my house while harvesting rambutans in my courtyard especially kids. They are very fond of sucking the blood from the little fleshy arms and legs of the toddlers. Mosquitoes like biting me more than to bite my hubby though I don't belong to B blood group. I always tease my hubby saying that mosquitoes could hardly land on his hairy limbs Anyhow there is a kind of herbal insect repellent cream which my hubby bought for me that can protect me as well as the guests from the mosquitoes attack when having outdoor activities. posting and have a great day.

I thought it was blood type A that gets the most stings. I too notice that they tend to target certain people more than others. Cos when you are in the jungle, you will notive this the most. I have a fellow platoon mate who absolutely hates to go out to the jungle for training. Cos he will always return back to bunk with lots of mosquitoes sores. NO matter how much repellent or oilments he applies, they will still go for him first.

The biting mosquitoes are the female ones. The males are veggies who feed on plants. If you are male, naturally they will get attracted to you. Why not use some sweet smelling mosquito cream? Cheers and happy mylotting

i dun know if there is any reason behind it.. but i do notice that children get bitten a lot more than adults.. because that would always happen with my children when we sleep 'away from home'.. the younger ones would have mosquito bite marks all over their body, while the rest of us would have some or none at all...

I got this from a web site called Wise Geek, I think it will answer your question very nicely: "Scientific research has shown that if you are frequently bitten by mosquitoes, it is because of the smell you give off. Mosquitoes are attracted to the smells of certain people. If a person is rarely bitten, then his or her body gives off a smell that masks the scent that attracts mosquitoes. The body's masking odors act like a natural repellent to mosquitoes. People who are bitten less frequently, or not at all, emit chemicals that repel mosquitoes. Mosquitoes recognize these smells as something they would not like to feast on and fly to someone else. Recent research has been undertaken to narrow down the smells that are attractive and repellent to mosquitoes. The research was at first described as similar to looking for a needle in a haystack, but scientists have since managed to track down and identify around 30 chemical compounds out of 300 that can protect people. The mosquito bite repellents currently available on the market work on much the same principle. They mask the attractive body odor that mosquitoes like. Some mosquito bite repellents are plant-based in odor, causing the mosquito to sense that the wearer is a plant and look elsewhere for its food."
