One in four teen girls have rolled up their sleeves for the relatively new vaccine against cervical cancer, federal health officials said Thursday. Alot of woman I know don't go for their regular check-ups. Though they say they know they need to go. Would this vaccine be something you would do for yourself? Or recommend for your daughter?

I think that anything we can do to stop cervical cancer then we need to try to stop it and take notice of whats out their to prevent it. I told my niece but she has two kids and she blowed it off as nothing. I wish they would make it a necessity to haves so that their would be more prevention methods going on.

I would definitely recommend it for myself, others and for my daughter. I need to talk to my daughter about it. She just had surgery and had one of her ovaries removed. She is 16 years old. She had a large cyst. I wish we had insurance so I could go. she does have Medicaid though.

Well, I would say it's a good idea. There will be years to go before my daughter needs the shot, but .. one must always be careful.

Well i don't have a daughter but if you feel it is necessary then yes definitely do that. When I was in AP Government in high school i did a five page page report on this vaccine and the pros and cons that come with it. It does protect against most strains but not all of them and some of the side effects that are known at this point are fever, fainting, headaches, pain at injection site, swelling, and rash. of course they don't know yet what the other side effects are. I believe the benefits outweigh the risks.
