Are you a Harry Potter fan? How did you find out about the Harry Potter Books or movies?.
I know that i am a Harry Potter fan and the book that really got me hooked on the series was the 4th book Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I had read all the previous books and when i got to the 4th I all of a sudden was hooked and could not put the book down.

I started reading Harry Potter books to see if they were the evil, devil-worship-inducing tomes that certain religious groups liked to make them out to be. Of course, I never found anything to substantiate those claims. It doesn't surprise me that Goblet was the book that got you hooked on the series. HP really wasn't a "series" before that. The first three stories are basically independent and were written in such a manner that you wouldn't have had to read the first one to understand the second or the second to understand the third. The later four follow a continuous storyline. I like how things get more difficult for Harry as he gets older and how much darker and dangerous things become for him as he gets closer to his final showdown with Voldemort.

Yep, I'm a Harry Potter. The first time I had ever heard about them was in the 4th grade (I'm freshman in college now, can't believe I was so young). My teacher was reading the first Harry Potter book to us aloud for story time (yep, we had that and had discussions on the book). Thing is, she never finished the book. I think a parent or the principal said something to her about the book because I asked her if she ever would finish and she told me she couldn't.
I lost interest, but picked the first book up when I was in the 6th grade during Homeschooling at the library. I remembered it was the book in my 4th grade and decided to read it.
Since I was a Harry Potter fan, I knew about the movies and such, so yeah. The movies aren't so great to me. But whatever.

i am a super duper die-hard, cross-my-heart-and-hope-to-die harry potter fan. and my fandom was invoked right from the first word of the first sentence of the first page of the first chapter of the first book. ok, maybe i am overdoing it a bit, but i can't tell you how big a fan i am. my cousin was a fan, and he told me that it was really interesting and everything but it didn't inspire me much. i am an avid reader, so the next time i went to the library (which is very often), i saw the first and the second book there. this was very lucky of me, because the harry potter books were hardly ever found present in the library, as they were snapped up as soon as they were returned by someone. so i just took the books out, and thought, why not? i can at least give them a try. but to the headache of my parents and my brother, i was hooked. they were so sick of me going harry potter this, and harry potter that... about everything...
and i think i might be boring everyone by going on even right now, so i'll stop...
