volunteer

Ya I Volunteer at the Senior Center last year, I did stuff like fed the residents, served Breakfast, Lunch and sweep floors.

It seems that volunteering has been part of me for most of my life. I learned it at a young age through Girl Scouting. I now volunteer for my daughter's Girl Scout troop and for a couple other local non-profits. It's a very rewarding experience. If you haven't tried it, you should. And pick something that you are interested in or have a passion for. For example, I have a friend that loves horses and she volunteers at a stable for horses used to help rehabilate people.

I think it is nice to volunteer if you can for a good cause, I volunteered for six years at a nursing home, it is very rewarding in a way, if people can it good but one has to want to do it you can't just convince someone it has to be done because they want to do it..

Volunteering is wonderful. I've often felt guilty for not volunteering enough. I think now I realize that as long as volunteering doesn't cut into what our families need from us. There are many great causes and many great volunteers. I have decided to be head room parent at my son's school. I was pretty overwhelmed when I did it 2 years ago. If I get all stressed out due to volunteering commitments then I'm not doing my family any favors. However, if I make sure that I'm helping the right cause at the right time then I feel so much better and not guilty. I think volunteering has to be a personal decision and all pros and cons should be weighted. Make sure our house is whole first. I also do not believe anyone should be judged by how much they volunteer, we all have different lives and different priorities and we do not know and therefore cannot judge.
