I have two needles bend, and I cannot determine what is causing it. I have had broken needles, but not bending needles after couple stitches. I really need to sew some stuff this long weekend. I don't want to take my sewing machine to the shop because I do not have any money.

I am not an expert on sewing machines as a matter of fact I always used to break needles when I used a sewing machine, but if your needles are bending it sounds like for some reason the material may be dragging, maybe there is something that is stopping the material from running smoothly...just a thought.

either your needle's the wrong size, the tension is not set right,or the fabric is getting hung on something/being pushed through too fast.
if the line you're sewing on the fabric has a bunch of loops underneath from the little bobbin before it breaks,it's most likely the tension.

you might be using a fabric that is too heavy for the needle size. in which case go to this website
http://sewing.about.com/od/sewingmachineindex/ig/Sewing-Machine-Needles/Needle-Sizes.--94.htm
it will help you find the right size needle for the fabric you are using and gives tips.
another thing..if you are using a heavier fabric you might try loosening the tension a bit.
always test on a piece of scrap fabric before trying to sew the actual project piece. that way you learn ahead of time and dont end up having to rip out stitches or ripping the fabric.
