A lot of people say that TV is an idiot box, but a lot of educational and learning shows are now advertised. My niece learns a lot of spanish words from the Dora the explorer show and I learn a lot by watching the food channel and animal planet. With these educational shows on air, can you still say that the TELEVISION IS AN IDIOT BOX?

hi chicha...there are some ridiculously written programs and there are some excellent programing. it is good for information and for helping you relax and forget your cares. it also can spark your imagination and explore ideas with CG making fantasy appear real. it can be quite educational and fascinating.

yes, I agree. But doesn't television minimize the use of imagination since they are already showing a visual picture?

i understand what you mean. and sometimes yes, because they weren't very good at it. but sometimes the artists' creativity and technology shows us things that we couldn't imagine and expand our imagination.

i dont think TV will be an idiot box. because i have learned a lot of thinks from that box. more science, technology, and lot more, this is the only thing in which you can get all the news upto time, channels like discovery, animal planet, and .. will help all to know lot more about the world.
