So ... Rio's the England Captain Later Today!

Excellent! As a United Supporter, I assume that a good many of us will be pleased for our prized defender - good on yer Rio.
However, on a more permanent note, am I the only person on this earth who does NOT think that John Terry is the best guy for England Captain? Well am I?
Personally (forgive this please), if a United Red can't be permanent Captain, then I would rather like to see Steven Gerrard appointed. Yes I know he's from the enemy, but, if I were a player in the squad, Steve Gerrard would make me feel safe about our games. Steve comes over as a serious and responsible player who can steady the ship, and thrill everyone with some stunning goals. Plus ... he's a nice guy as well isn't he - you don't get any bad attitude from him, he's honest and hard working, and I think he'd rise to the appoinment and be a shining example.
Finally, who's gonna win the game later? Are we to be confident after the last result, or will it return to 'business as usual'?
Let's be optimistic eh!

Yes, Rio was the captain last night and he led from the front. When Kazhakstan were difficult to break down, his header opened the scoring for England. Then it was a simple massacre, the final scoreline read 5-1 to England.
Cheers!

I agree with you...for me Rio is the best choice to be captain instead of Terry.
Because if we looking from their game, we can see that Rio is more composed, his anticipation, judgement seldomly get wrong. Whenever the ball is coming, it's him who respond first either by head or by leg. Plus, he's less robust than Terry.
For the game against Belarus, Rio will start as captain again. full support for him!
