Do you support/oppose the system of performance evaluation of teachers by their students? The recent proposal prepared by some Governments for introducing the system of performance evaluation of teachers by their students has stimulated heated discussions and differences of opinions, at intellectual circles. Are the students capable of judging their teacher's role, responsibility and overall performance,in the right spirit? Will the result of such evaluation be unbiased and justified? What are your view points?

i think it's a good idea. there are some people who don't need to be teaching our kids.

we already have this system in our university and we do evaluation two times in a semester, once when we have just started the semester and two weeks into it and then a week after the final exam and that really is a good way that how students rate their teachers before and after the exam and the administration can then determine the teachers as well as the students moral evaluation. we always evaluate them unbiased and we do not try to unjustly favor a teacher or grade him bad because he gave us bad grades. it should be used in universities and a nice recommendation for any country's educational improvement and i think the students are mature enough to understand that their evaluation needs to be just as it can effect them as well.

i would actually have to say i both support and oppose it. i support it because the children are the ones spending the most time in the classroom with their teacher and are therefore familiar with the way they teach and can evaluate whether or not the feel they are the getting the adequate information and attention they need, this would be good at the high school or middle school level (maybe.) this is where i kind of oppose it because well all children mature at a different rate right? well lets say a class doesn't like their teacher because they feel that teacher is mean and strict when it may not be that at all, they just want a structured learning environment. so all the children tell their evaluators that their teacher isnt doing their job well just so they may get rid of their teacher?? dont get me wrong im not saying it would happen but then again anything could happen. i just figured i'd be fair and reveal both sides of the argument.
