Aliskiren Rasilez - cure for Essential Hypertension?

My cardiologist diagnosed me having a Type I hypertension and he gave me this medication, Aiskiren Rasilez 150mg once a day. It is all bout the angiotensin II, renin, etc. I cannot explain the whole function so just search it one the net, in short it is a hypertensive drug, used to lower the blood pressure esp. essential hypertension. Now I'm on my 2nd week and the effects of the medication is said to be notice or seen for about 2 weeks, but my blood pressure didn't became lower than I expected. I am monitoring my blood pressure Q4/every four hours and it is just playing 130/90 to 130/80. Do you guys know any alternative to cure this hypertension? it's killing me! huhu.. especially that this drug too damn expensive for me.
