Hi all my friends.
Every night almost all people will feel tired and sleep. But someone doesn't because of their job. I always sleep at night and I need a little light that can seen by my eyes. Because without any light I can sleep correctly, it makes me feel can't breath. It happens when my electric is been cut off. So I must switch on an oil lamp. So I can sleep with a little light.
Could you sleep without any lights [absolutely dark] ? or maybe like me, still need a little light ?
Thank's for the willing time to read and respond my discussion.

I am opposite with you. I am having a hard time sleeping if there is a single light on. I prefer to sleep in the dark because I feel more relaxed and when my roommate is still doing something and needed the light on, I will cover my face with a towel or a pillow just so I will not see the light and be asleep fast.

yeah I'm kind of the same way. I really don't like to sleep with the light on. Even in the morning when the sun starts to come out, I'll cover my face with the blankets to block out the light. I like a lot of sunshine during the day, but when I sleep it has to be dark. And I understand about the roommates. I had a roommate who kept polar opposite hours from me so the light was always on in the room lol.

I usually sleep with no light turned on. Only exception was, when I was on holiday during the summer. We got the room with some bugs which appears in the dark. After I was wakened up by one crawling on my legs I turned on the light and keep it turned through whole night. Next day I argued with reception new really nice room with no bugs, so I could sleep with no light up:))

Oh that is so creepy about the bugs! For me it's the opposite. If there are bugs I usually turn off the lights. Bugs are attracted to light. What I'll do is turn off the lights in the house and turn them on at the front porch just so they'll be attracted to the door and leave. It's good you got a new room.

People are always different, aren't they? I can't sleep with the lights on. I have to have it dark in the room in order to fall asleep. I cover the display on the clock radio on my nightstand and block the display on my VCR and DVD player in my bedroom. We also have room darkening blinds and drapes in our room to block out any outside light. And before you ask, no night lights either.
Now, I'm thinking about bed and getting sleepy...
Have a great day and happy myLotting!!!

When I was younger, I could not sleep without some type of nightlight shining or the tv running. Overtime, I start weaning myself off the light and now I sleep in complete darkness. I actually would get pissed off if someone shined a light in my face if I was trying to sleep lol.

Hi there!
I also prefer sleeping with a lamp if the light is turned off. Though I can sleep with my lights turned off and without using lamp inside my bedroom, but I leave my bedroom door slightly open and still I would open the lights on the hallway to my bedroom. Just to have a ray of light passing through the door. I also get the feeling that I can't breathe when its completely dark.
Ciao!

Yes I can sleep without a light on. I like it way better as a matter of fact. I feel safer in my room as if I can't see they can't see. I know where everything is and nobody else does. And in my bedroom one need to know. As you can get hurt just trying to walk in my room if you don't know where things are. I have alway's set my room's up that way. so yes I son't need a light. I'm really afraid of darkness. Feel like being haunted by some1 when I am in a dark room :-O Wud prefer my tube lights to be on when I sleep all alone. But if I sleep with my parents in their room i'd manage with a dull/little light :)

Hi winzpc, I can sleep no matter the light is on or not, it do not bother me much. If I am sleeping enough, I can even sleep when standing. You know I am a "deep sleeper" which cannot be woken up easily. But you reminded me that I was awaken by someone switching on the light in my room for a few times.

I've always slept without the lights on, but as I take notice (because of the topic you posted) I realized that I can sleep with a little light on (posts from outside or lights reflecting through my smoked glass wall). I don't think I can sleep in absolute darkness though, but I'm not yet sure. There was one time when there was a blackout which caused the whole portion of my city to be in total darkness, it was late but I couldn't sleep, but I don't really know if it's because of the light or because of the humidity or maybe both. :)
But I prefer to have a little (indirect) light. Just enough for me to see the whole room even if very dim.

If I fell sleepy, I dont bother if there is light or without a light..hehehe I can sleep in both situation. But regularly, I turn off the light at night, only light in the room is the aircon's setting light and the some other LED like the speaker of my computer.
Your situation is a total reverse of my mother, she cant sleep if there is light, she feels suffocated if anytime she open her eyes, there is a light.

Lights ~ no need for them?
I figure you can't see any light with your eyes closed anyway, so why need a light?
I can go to sleep with the light on or with the light off.
It doesn't matter to me, although I prefer for them to be off.
When they are on, my brain seems to think it's still daytime and need to work.
When they are off, my brain prepares the rest of my body for sleepy time.
