Both have their own advantages and draw backs. Previously when there were no ATMs there used to be lot of rush in the Banks in witndrawing the money, which now a days got reduced considerably. But then in some banks where there is a single cashier we need to stand in common queue where we are standing with depositors. In suc cases it is always better to go to ATM or avail the ATM facility attached to your bank! ATM on the contrary isavailable all 24 hours so you ae is rest assured that you can withdraw money at any given time and it can be withdrawn from anyplace throughout the contry. But the biggest draw back with thi facility is some times we see that the ATM Machines are out of order and there is no other ATM machine near by and then we have to travel a lot to get our work done. Another problem is if there is ts some thing wrong with the functioning of the Machine then your card get confiscated by the Machine for no fault of yours. I had experienced this one time, where there was no cash in the Machine. I hadto waste my two hours to get my card back. This I could get back as the ATM was attached to the Bank itself.Another problem is that the amount is debitted from your account but don't get any money from the machine. You get th money back once you complain to your bank about it, but then it would take few weeks to get the amount deposited back to your account! Here in case if we are out of station with limited amount of money in the bank then we are really in the soup! Thanks! Very interesting topic of discussion!

in my opinion atms are the best if u just want to take out money frm a bank....we have lots of ATMS in our city so why we will go to banks....really by the introduction of ATMs there had been a gr8 help to many people who felt it hard to go to banks and stand in long ques....one thing to rem is tht we should keep our card info private thts it....if we use it safely its the best thing..But if u have to send money or manage ur account u surely need to go to banks......hapy mylotting frd!!

Hello,Seeths! I am not in favor of ATM withdrawal because once a friend of mine withdrew some money from the ATM counter and in the bunch a piece of currency was torn up.How can he change it, it was a problem for him.Who will solve this problem?Suppose a currency is a fake piece in the bunch, whom you will complain? No body would believe you and the police will simply come and arrest you.So I prefer to withdraw money as and when required as I was doing it before the introduction of ATM facilities.thanx.

Now a day even in ATM( automated teller machine ) having lots of crowd. but i think the ATM reduces the crowds in the bank. Think what will happen if the atm's are not now, it will became night mare to go to banks. I use ATM only for taking money not for dropping cheque, and sometime i use it for cooling myself when there is no crowd, they made it well air conditioned :D.

Hi Seeths, i prefer ATM because is much more convenient for me, i believe for the rest of people. Because most bank will allocate some ATM at their branch and operate at 24/7. Also, in there is equip with CCTV, thus is also quite save. If i were to withdraw quite a big amount of money, i would prefer bank as i can see them count the money in front of me instead of i count it myself after i withdraw from ATM. It reduce the risk of allow someone noted us with lots of money at that time and it may lead to robbery case. So whenever with money on hand, need to be extra careful regardless from ATM or Bank.!

I would prefer to use ATM as I always withdraw money when it is off office hour. Unless i need a big amount of money, I won't go to bank. There's big traffic jam in the city, hard to find car parking lot and need to long time queue up too. It's a waste of time to go to bank.

For me to go to my bank and withdraw money over the counte4r seeths would mean having to hop on a plane and fly over 25 hours to do so! lol. My bank is back in Australia so it is ATM's all the way for me! Thankfully I don;t seem to have any issues with ATM lines here either but I do get annoyed with the conversion fees I keep having to pay. They add up after a while!

I prefer ATMs anyday to Banks just because of the huge queues. But, looking these days at the queues in front of the ATMs, it looks like I need to start going back to the banks. At least you have a A/C out there where you can sit and wait your turn.
Cheers!

I prefer ATM because it is good when we need cash fast but when it comes to my savings, I prefer a bank account since they have higher interest. I am using my ATM for payroll purposes only.

I rather go to ATM than the bank cause the queue line is long. I can also prefefr ATM as you can go anytime you want even after the bank closed.

I prefer the ATM because I don't have to deal with rude employees who ask for too many IDs. I can do whatever that I wanted to and I don't have to worry about people snooping on me. I think privacy is everything. The bank employees are always suspicious of you when they don't need to be.
