you should adopt an animal

I agree that people should adopt an animal instead of buying them from say a breeder, unless they want a show dog or become breeders themselves. But I do not agree with the point you make that one should adopt an animal because it is cheap. There are lots of things to take into consideration before adopting a pet. Such as the size of your living quarters, the size of your yard, how many hours a day do you work, do you have enough time in your lifestyle to accommodate a pet. Even although you say it is only $40 to adopt a pet, you also need to look into how much it will cost to feed weekly, shampoo, flea and tick products, yearly vacinations. You must have pretty big living quarters, what type of pets did you adopt?? I just want people to know that adopting a pet is a life long commitment to that animal and to think about it carefully but once they have made the decision to adopt they will have a loving and lifelong companion. I just lost my Old English Sheepdog, she was 13, a good age for that breed. I really miss her but I still have her daughter who is now seven. We also have two cats, one was a stray and one was a give away, love them all.

I agree. There are so many animals that need homes and a lot of them are put to sleep a few days after being placed in a shelter. I personally have 3 cats that were rescued. My oldest was the kitten of a stray, the second we got from the Humane Society, and my newest kitten was found in the woods and needed a home. I am a big animal lover and hate to see them without homes.
