No I don't. And I don't have a satisfying theory either. But maybe because it puts some impression/mark of that it's you. Let's say your name is Marie, and you're born 1979. It'd probably feel a little more personal (even if there's plenty of Marie's born 1979 out there in the world) if your username was Marie79/Marie1979 rather than eiraM, fotballlover or something like that. :)
Happy myLotting, mulau2u.

Perhaps, though I think it's a little cliché and over used. But I guess it'll never actually die out. :P

I've seen this in a lot of people's email addresses and user names but I've never done it before. It's so unoriginal. Plus, I don't want people knowing what my age is. I'd like to keep some things private. This will help prevent identity theft which is one of my worst fears ever.

No I like to have my initials and pet name as my user name. Since it is difficult to get a mail ID with alphas alone I add my lucky number to it. Also in other forums such as mylot I keep the same user name as mail ID I create the account. That way it is much easier to remember things.

no i don't put my year birth next to my user name or any other kind of form...
first..because, i don't like it and second, it's like putting myself to great risk by doing that!

I never did, but I think that some people do it to add authenticity to their username, or to instill a subconscious perception of experience to the reader.

yes there are some people who do such a thing. i don't know really but may be because you know there are other people in the world who bares the same name as you do and also a member of a site that you are a member too to preserve their name (as username of that site), the add something like a year or something that discribe their personality.
