A few days ago I tried a number of Egyptian sweets and found them very tasty! The one I enjoyed the most was baklava. It was really sweet and crunchy too! I would like to try sweets from many different places so what sweets do you have that are from your country?

India is the country to be in if you have a sweet tooth. There are so many varieties of sweet. For those who love sweet that is not too sweet would love the likes of Kaju Ketli and other sweets made of dry fruits. For those who love syrupy sweets, the likes of Gulab Jamun, Malpoas and Rasgulla is just around the corner. For those who love sweets without syrup, there are Laddus, Adhirasams and barfis... So depending on what you love, you would find it here in India. Cheers! Ram

Hi ram, I don't really have a sweet tooth but occasionally I do enjoy eating sweets! So Kaju Ketli sounds good to me. I have been tried of different sweets when I was in India and can't really remember how they called! But I do remember Gulab Jamun and there is brown one and white one and I prefer the brown color one. Thanks for sharing some of the sweets in your country.

Hi CJay. I really don't know if you will find brasilian sweets in your country but it is a pity because they are very tasty. Here we have many kinds of sweets. I will named the traditional ones only. We have pumpkin with coconut, cake of cassava, quindim, cocada (sweet made with coconut), pé-de-moleque (sweet made with peanut), cake of corn meal and many more. If you would eat some of these you would like. Each region have their own traditional sweets. Our culinary is too rich because we are a very mixed people. Have a nice day.

Hi teka, We have cassava cake in the Philippines and yes they are so good and we also have sweet that made in coconut which is probably similar to your cocada. Cake of corn meal I would love to try its sounds very tasty. I've heard about some countries that each region have their own traditional food or sweets. Thanks for sharing and you have a nice day also.

My husband keeps on telling me about Baklava but until now i haven't tasted it yet. We have Magrood (dates cookies) and Ghreyba (butter cookies) here and am planning to bake them tomorrow (my first time with these cookies.) Oh these Mid Eastern sweets are divine! But our country's own are also great, like Polvoron, Cassava Cake, Banana Turon (banana with jackfruit wrapped in spring roll dough, rolled in brown sugar and deep fried), Bicho-bicho (fried sticky dough and rolled in sugar), Kutsinta (what's in this?), Palitao (rice flour?)...all i love. What else are there other than Baklava? They have colorful nutty cookies but i do not know the names.

Hi pinky, I agree that sweets in Mid Eastern are sensational, I try some few days ago and I just wanted to get more, lol. They have a lot of sweets here, and I only get 3 types and can't even remember the names, because even though I ask, just after a few hours I will forget because its in Arabic. But I'm sure it will be familiar of what you have there! Yes sweets in our country are also great and tasty! Good luck with your baking tomorrow and I'm sure it will be tasty. Thanks for the response.
