Yep, we wear shoes (flip flops, sandals, trainers, shoes or boots) outside, but as soon as we come in, we change into slippers.
It is very rare for me to wear slippers outside - I have only done it on two occasions; the first was when I just wanted to put some rubbish in the bin, and couldn't be bothered to change, and the second was by accident. We have a community pool, and I just forgot to put my flip flops on, and went in my slippers.

I wear flip-flops (sandals) or tennis shoes when I go out, but never slippers. For us, those are to be worn inside of the house.

Customs are different in different countries. Here in the U.S. we only wear slippers when we're relaxing at home, and they're considered home or bedroom footwear. The only time I ever wore a slipper away from home was the one morning I was so rushed that I forgot to change into my shoes. Luckily, I had another pair of shoes in the car to change into for work or I would have had to go home and get my work shoes!
