i have past issues, child abuse and eating disorder issues and if i calorie count or do do anything to rigid i can get quite obsessive.
i have a few allergies, asthma and my knees sometimes dislocate.
all tht asside i need to lose about 5 or 6 stone and nothing i do is helping.
i do do mini trampoling and a lot of walking, but it isnt speed walking, does slow walking still help u lose weight/

Heya Jarael, that is an awful lot of weight to lose (i don't mean that nastily in any way, you look slim in your avatar!) perhaps it would be a good idea to go and see your gp as they might be able to recommend something that would be able to help! In light of your past problems i think you need to be careful about how you go about it! The safest and most effective, even though it's not the quickest, way to lose weight is to eat healthily and do plenty of exercise, so you are burning the calories off but still taking enough in to sustain a healthy body! I really love swimming as a form of exercise, it isn't too strenuous and it works all the muscle groups in your body, which is great, but it depends what you enjoy! slow walking does burn calories, it's quite a good form of exercise as far as i know!! good luck with it and be sensible, you look beautiful in your picture so don't go getting worried about it! xxx

thank you, honestly no offence taken, i know i have loads to lose. back in may when i had my allergy test i was a stone and a half heavier so i have lost a little bit lol.
i do lots of walking but i cant swim to good, makes me knees dislocate.
generally i do eat healithly but i keep eating allergic foods, apparently it can be harder to lose weight if u do that.
thank u for saying i look beautiful, that means a lot because i dont feel it.

hiya, thank you, i have tried weightwatchers before but couldnt keep it up as wasnt allowed to take the kids as they are at school now i guess i could look into it again. though do you reckon they would help me with choosing foods im not allergic to.
its so easy to get obsessive, as to make sure you dont put on weight you lose really you have to know how much food you are eating and to do that the best way is to calorie account. but i too have relaxed about this now, and now i rarely count them. i sometimes do if its a snack im about to eat because i do snack quite a bit as i get a lot of blood sugar probs between meals.
i have been to the doctor a few times about my weight, but have not managed to see my actual doctor who is quite nice.
one doctor i saw told me all my illnesses was not allergies , they were due to me eating too much and being so fat.
and another doctor told me it was because i eat too much and dont exercise. when i do at least ten thousand steps most days and always running around with the kids.
to be honest i dont think its to do with the quantity of what i eat, or exercise. i think its to do with me eating allergic stuff, and a mixture of me maybe not eating enough or often enough.
im thinking one day i should maybe post on here, under this discussion wat i have eaten that day. what u reckon? or do you think the thread would be deleted.
i want to thank you also for listening to me and paying attention.
is there anything you would liek to talk about to do with diets or exercise or weight, i feel as though im hogging this discussion lol and this was not my intention.

Well you have made some progress, a stone and a half is quite a lot! keep up with the walking and the healthy eating, you probably do need to be wary of eating foods that you are allergic to, i shouldn't have thought it would help! It really is better to lose it slowly rather than quickly, not only is it healthier for you but it is also more likely to stay off, if you do radical diets as soon as you start eating normally again then the weight just goes back on. I have had problems with my eating in the past and still have a tendency to get a bit obsessive about it, but i found weight watchers quite good, because a lot of eating doscorders are related to wanting to feel as though you are in control, and with weight watchers you are in control of the amount of points you eat, but without feeling as though you are depriving yourself! everyone is different but i know that one worked quite well for me! If you really do think you need to lose as much weight as you say it really might be worth talking to your GP about it, i know it sounds a bit daft but there will probably be something they can do to help!! And i mean it, you do look pretty in you avatar, i imagine you're the only one who can't see it, i feel the same a lot of the time, no matter what anyone says i feel fat and ugly, but i have got better in recent months, you just need to take some positive action and you start to feel better about yourself! xxx

You need to find how you asimilated fat, your metabolism and study your way of eating. Eat healthy (avoid junk food and eat fresh clean homemade dinners). I don't recommend you to start eating only vegetables. Fish and chicken (made home of course and the best chicken meat without the skin) are easy meals and usualy are healthy (depends on how you cook them). Use olive oil it's far more tastier and healthier. Eat salads (mixed with all you want, including meat like fish, chicken, low fat meat from pork etc). Now the exercise's try to make a habit of it. You loose weight by simple waliking still I recommend you do other sports like swimming (it's the best and healthiest exercise), runnning is the second. Go to the gym to not everday if you can't but do it, you need tyo use all the calories you gain from the food. You can ask the doctor too what to do. About your past you must accept them and leave them behind, now the present and the future is more important. see those days as a lesson, do not let them get your mind, stand up and take charge to your new, happy and healthy life. by doing these you'll be surprised of the changes.

i understand what u are saying and in general i do eat healthy and 5 days out of 7 ill walk over 10000 steps a day, i just dont seem to be losing weight any more.
i need motivation to exercise, ive never been a gym bunny and swimming is no good for me, i do have a lateral thigh trainer but its sat in the corner gathering dust lol.
i know the furture is more important but its not as easy to forget the past as people think.
i do blame my past for me gaining weight, but i dont blame my past for me not losing it now.
i know what i need to do, but i just cant do it.
i had a set back a few weeks ago where i did a hrs walking everyday, no sweets, no choc, no junk, 3 meals a day with 2 snacks a day to control my blood sugar. i also did not eat any food im allergic to as i know when i do it puts weight on me. and the result is that i didnt lose not even half a pound of weight.
so ive kind of gone off the rails a bit since then.
ready now to get back on track.
just wanted to get some advice.

hmm i see well I'm not an expert so I'm telling you what i know and I know it's hard to forget the past even i have a lot of events back there which i wish i've never had them, but they are always coming back in another form. So I managed to cope with them and accept them, you have to first change you attitude about yourself. Do you know that the way you think about yourself determines your whole body too? You have to stop thinking that you can't loose weight, you must think that you are already loosing weight and that you don't have any health problems, be a more optimistic. It's very important to have a clean and energetic mind to get a strong body too. I wish i could help you more but this is all that i can tell you, the rest depends on you strong will and your way of thinking. I'm sure you'll solve these sooner.

i agree that i can be quite negative when it comes to myself, but the one time i really was positive and put my all into losing weight, nothing happenede and i didnt lose.
ive decided im gonna go for the exercise route rather then the strict dieting, do that for a few weeks and see what happens, if im still not losing then ill have to start being stricter with food.
thanks

My biggest thing si watching what I eat. I eat in moderation but still have a hard time lossing the weight myself. I add more veggies if I can when cooking. Such as a hamburger I will add lettuce and tomatoe. Its not much but does add up over time. I go easy on peas and corn. As they are carbs which brings on the weight. I stay away from greasy and fatty foods as well. good luck loosing your weight.

i love my veggies too and i eat quite a lot, but my problem i think is eating foods im allergic too and also maybe not eating enough or erractic eating. sometimes ill completely miss breakfast and lunch then have dinner, snacks, another meal before i go bed then more snacks before bed. which then offten means im not hungry for breakfast.
i have sort of broken that cycle but i need motivation, i think when i go to weightwatchers next week it will be good for me.
thank you for posting.
