i think the first thing is to eat in the right way.
lsiing weight doesn't mean that you should to eat very little ,but to eat healthy.
change the oily meat into ones with low heat , like chinken and fish.
eat more fruits and vegetables, drinking fruit juice instead of cola.of course , the diet cola is ok.
if you are a american, i think is necessary for you to eat less fast food like chops and humburgers.
then walk about 30 minutes evryday . i think go out after meal with family is really good.
what's more, not sit or sleep after meal also helps.
hope these can help you a little.

Well if you don't exercise and don't stick to diets, I doubt there's any other options left. You can however do what I'm doing and try Keto. Sort of like Atkins. You still however must have at least some exercise, walking for 10 minutes even helps.

I really don't believe in diets and stuff.
it is just a little hard work that is required.
keep body well hydrated.
eat well but avoid becoming too full.
do a little bit of work out.
this works for long term.
And if you want short term, just increase the workout time.

The best i have seen by myself is walking. One of my friend is doing this walking exercise for 1 year without fail and his body is in good shape now... He never follows the diet control... he loves consuming foods alot. Still he manage to reduce his weight considerably
try it for yourself...
