Are your parents divorced, still together, never married?

How do you think their relationship affected you? Mine are divorced. I don't think that had as much of an affect as getting step-parents. It has made me very careful about how I raise my daughter since her father and I are divorced. I have remarried and all is well. Nothing like my childhood.

My parents have been married for 40 years. I was married at 19 and divorced by 26. I don't know that their relationship has had a postive OR negative influence on my relationships. I have seen the negative aspects of theirs and tried not to repeat those in my own but I'm not sure that I've succeeded.

All you can do is your best. If you are doing that, then you shouldn't feel guilty.

That is so great. I noticed that there seem to be several people from India on here. I have always been fascinated with your culture. Thanks for the response!

My parents are separated 19 years ago so I'm used to not having the both of then around. I just hope that when I get to have a family of my own, nothing like that (separation, divorce) will happen to me and my future husband.

My parents divorced when i was 3 years old, so really its all ive ever known. I didnt see my dad much becasue he lived in another state. It has made me try harder to keep my relationship with my partner together

Better divorced than cheating and telling your 10 year old daughter to lie to her father about your affair!I used to wish my parents would get divorced so they could just be happy!!! A happy 'new' or 'second' marriage will leave a much better impression than a turbelant constantly fighting marriage ..

My parents are divorced. They stayed together until I was 19, so I don't think it affected me as it would have if I were younger. Of course, I still wish they were together. :)

My parents are still married. They've been married for 27 years. I think it has made a difference in the way I look at marriage.
