I know most Cubs fans probably believe in curses, especially after what the Dodgers did to them this year in the playoffs. Up until a few years ago I'm guessing most Redsox fans believed too. But what about you? Is there any truth at all to the belief in curses when it comes to sports?

Being a lifelong Red Sox fans it's hard to say that curses don't exist when it comes to sports. I think most of it has to do with letting the idea of a curse get into your head. If you believe it enough, it's possible that it could have an overall negative affect by adding the element of pressure and expectations to break it every year.
But if you believe in curses you can't deny that they can be broken as well. Especially with what the Sox have been doing the past 4 years.

The Cubs have a curse! Every October at midnight, Bartman rides on the field on a goat and drops a black cat onto Wrigley Field! ;)

Ask the city of Cleveland. The Indians haven't won in the World Series since 1948. The Browns haven't won a Super Bowl period but the last NFL Title was in 1964 in the Pre-Super Bowl Era. The Cavs haven't won in the NBA Finals yet. I don't know if there is truth or not but you get tired of hearing about it and how the old cliche, there's always next year being said. I have wondered that but I think it's the case of putting any pressure on them, they fall apart.
