What would happen?

Did you know that Benjamin Franklin, and many other Founders wanted officials to be volunteers? They didn't think governmental officials should be on the taxpayers payroll...becasue they wanted the people to only have to pay taxes on things that benefited the whole.
What do you think would happen to our economy if we cut back the amount we pay our officials? Say we pay their living expenses, and that's it. And no, not their million dollar life style living expenses, but living expenses of the common man. You know, the averag $30,ooo-$40,ooo a year lifestyle.

I am all for it. It would be nice to think it would attract people who cared for more than the money.

ASide from the fact that money runs our nation, and this would never come about because too many are too greedy...do you think it would help? Have you read or heard any studies on the less money/better productivity ideal? Have you witnessed this model first hand?
Just curious:)

I do think it would help. As far as has it been done before only one example comes to mind without doing much reasersh. Japans ceos are limited on the ammount of money they are allowed to make and they did very well for decades. I will try to look up some more. but there is a lot in my plate.

Oh, sure. Like I didn't already have enough research to do. You gotta post this and get that last response, so now I gotta go and look for some kinda info to back up what we already know, politicians are greedy and don't give a rats behind about us little guys.
HI EDGY! I haven't been here at the lot to play for a while. Thought I would stop in and say hello.
