5 Ways to Leave a Lover:
1. Don't email him
2. Don't make miss calls.
3. Don't text.
4. Don't return his calls.
5. Disconnect.

Who sang this song? I'm not familiar with the title but it sure sounds interesting.
I know a lot of people would have considered me too young to be in a real relationship back then but I had my first boyfriend when I was 12 going on 13. Call it puppy love but he was my first love. He was 2 years older than me and we went out for 9 months. I hid it from my dad though because I knew he wouldn't approve considering my age (nothing happened by the way). But I was the overachiever and he was the troublemaker. I think all the hiding (his family knew though) and knowing looks at school got to me and broke up with him. I heard he ran away from his house for a few days after that and transferred to another school. We met up again 2 years later but nothing came out of it.
The second boyfriend was during senior year in high school. He has been "courting" me for a while and we're in the same circle of friends. I broke up with him 11 days after we "officially were together". I finally admitted to myself that I was in love with my male best friend and would rather spend time with him than said boyfriend. Yes, I was the cruel one in this story. I didn't tell him the real reason though but he caught me and best friend going out (just as friends) a few days later. The next day after that, they both came to my house at the same time to say goodbye as I was leaving for the US. That was awkward.
That best friend and I ended up together 3 or 4 years later when I went back for a vacation. We finally admitted to each other how we felt and that month together was the happiest (before Boyfriend anyway) for me. We tried the long-distance part but it only lasted for 8 more months. I was heartbroken when we mutually decided to break up to save our friendship. Though we seldom keep in touch now.
I'm sorry this is a long one. You got me started.

Wow, what interesting stories. I don't think you sound like that "bad" one in the story. I think you sound like a great person. It takes a lot of courage to break up with someone when you realize you have feelings for someone else. There are a lot of people, especially in their teens that would continue dating him until they were sure if things were going to progress with the other man.
The song was written by Paul Simon. Its kind of a fun song. You should check it out on YouTube or Itunes.
Thanks for responding and happy mylotting.

Well, I did come up of a lot of ways to leave a lover before:
1. Sent a guy a note apologizing that I don't want to see me anymore.
2. Told a guy I got pregnant by another man.
3. I moved to another place.
4. Told a guy I'm going overseas and won't be coming back.
5. I hid from a guy for days.
6. Asked my grandpa to tell the guy I ran away from home.
7. Asked a friend to call the guy and say I eloped with someone else.
Well, I really don't have the guts to tell the guy upfront that I wanted out already. Had a phobia coz there was one instance when the guy cried in front of me, another instance, the mom went to my house saying her son hasn't come home for days, and one instance the guy threatened to kill himself.
I guess everything changed when I met my hubby..from a girl who jumped from one relationship to another..I'm now happily married for 11 years and counting... :D
