It seems my other topic like this went over well, so I thought I would write another one. :)
Do you know what are the best free places to be advertising on the internet?
Many people will suggest blogging, but I think that a blog is something that should be introduced after you have gotten your information on to other sites.
The best place to set up a site is Squidoo. Why Squidoo? Because it is ranked very high in search engines. Pretty neat that Squidoo advertises for you and then pays you to do it.
Now, you should also add a few other sites to the mix and point them all back to Squidoo... So post an article on hubpages back to Squidoo, post an article on ehow or goArticles... and the best one EzineArticles.com. But make sure you read the rules to Ezine or else you likely won't get your article published.
Please understand that I am NOT saying that just because you put something on Squidoo it will receive a lot of hits, but if you do your research in regards to keywords, then yes, you can receive a lot of hits from Squidoo.
I hope this helps someone out.

Well said! The really neat thing about Squidoo is that there are so many options for back links to your lens, and then of course your lens links to your site, blog or whatever. The more back links you have the higher your traffic will be. Just remember to keep your lens or lenses updated. Search engines like sites that are updated regularly.

For sure. :) Have you ever used squidutils.com? I use that site to ping my lenses every time I update them.

just type that into your URl bar. www.squidutils.com and everything you want will be right there. You just have to enter your username. if you go to advanced mode you can easily ping each updated lens.
It's separate than Squidoo.

I had done some Squidoo work for a client awhile back and it seemed to work fairly good. My main complaint with Squidoo & the Squidoo Who pages is that they can be a pain to set up. I think that is why a lot of people stay away from them.

I haven't messed with the profile pages much there.
By a pain I mean like the add ons don't always work, like the Amazon widget: earlier I used it and had to set it up 3 times for it to connect to Amazon.

Oh, what do you mean a pain? Just setting up your profile? I would imagine that can be really tricky playing with the html when there is no preview mode, etc... Plus squidoo does not allow all html code. I don't do too much with my profile other than use it to maximize SEO. Thanks for posting.

Hmm, I can't say I've had that happen to me, but I don't doubt that you had troubles. I wonder why Squidoo doesn't like you. :(

I've been doing similar with Squido and my blogs and other places I "publish". Just now getting a "system" going - well, okay, just in the "process" of getting the system going but nearly there! Got my list of order to do things and have the topic to start an article and then "walk" it through my list. Thanks for metioning those other places to list - will look into them.

My little system involves ehow, ezine, go and hub plus the lens. That way you are saturating your market... each person has found their own little gems that they need to use... if you have any, please please share! :)

Surely these tips are helpful for all but all the steps like keywords and the quality of the content published can be achieved through a blog as well as an article in squidoo or ezinearticles in the end it boils down to keywords and traffic isn't it?
