Barack Obama held 4 rallies in Philadelphia yesterday, October 11th. I was fortunate enough to be able to attend the last one at South 52nd Street and Locust Street, in West Philadelphia, that began at 1:10 p.m. I got there around noon and couldn't believe the long lines waiting to get in. People were standing in lines as long as 4 city blocks on both sides of the street. I used my RSVP that I received from the Obama campaign to get right up on the barriers. I wasn't able to get near the stage though. It was a beautiful day. The skys were blue and the temperature was around 75 degrees. It was so nice to be around so many positive people sharing the same hopes and aspirations as I do. The crowd was warmed up by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter and Robert P. Casey Jr., United States Senator for Pennsylvania. Then came Barack Obama himself. All I can say is that he is a special person. I know of no one who could bring together such a diverse crowd in today's partisian political climate. Anyway, if you've never attended a political rally, then you can join me at yesterday's Barack Obama rally. The following videos gives you an idea what its like to be in the crowd. I wish I could have gotten some better clips, but I got there too late. My digital camera only takes 60 clips so these are all very short. Check them out and tell me what you think. I'm glad that you were able to attend the Vernon Park rally. I got to the 52nd Street and Locust rally about noon and wasn't able to get as close as I wanted. Were you able to get pictures of Barack Obama addressing the crowd? Anyway, I can't wait to go out and vote. I see that many people are already voting in states were early voting is permitted. Hopefully, change is on the way. Lloyd

Barack Obama's rise to being one step away from the Presidency of the United States is an amazing story. He's not someone from a political family or someone who has taken the tradional steps associated with previous Presidential candidates. He built his organization from the ground up with the support of millions of grassroots volunteers like myself. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos. I wish I had done a better job but I got there just a little too late. Lloyd

Well, thanks for the information about Obama. As you can see, I'm from India and I wasn't knowing much about him. Now I'm hoping to see Mr. Obama as President of USA very soon.

They are exciting and very full of energy. It's also so important that over 20,000 people attended this rally. I know that many had other things to do, but they wanted to be a part of electing the next President of the United States of America. Hopefully we will be rewarded for our efforts. Lloyd

No I have never been to a political rally. I have been to sporting rallys but never to a political one. I live out in the suburbs so any rally near me is likely to be in the city, and it is a hassle to go in to the city. I do love watching the debates though.

I also live in the suburbs, but I wanted to see a political rally first hand. It was a nice experience. The third debate is about to begin in 20 minutes and I'll be watching it closely. I'm curious to see what John McCain will do to smear Barack Obama's character. I'm also curious to see what John McCain's plans are for dealing with the issues facing the American people. Lloyd

Hi Tamara. If you ever get a chance to attend a rally, I urge you to take advantage of it. It's an experience you will never forget. It was a massive crowd but there were no problems. Everyone was on the same page. It won't be long and unless something goes wrong Barack Obama will go on to win this election. Lloyd

I'm glad you were able to get a feel of the crowd. I wasn't close enough to get a close-up picture of Barack Obama. The only way I was even able to see him was to stand on top of the barriers while someone steadied me. Even though I wasn't able to directley see Barack Obama's whole speach, it was nice to be in the same vicinity as Barack himself. I'm glad you enjoyed the videos of the rally and I hope Barack Obama gets voted in. The future of our country is definately riding on this vote. Lloyd

Not for anything this big. Just a small local event. I am not too fond of crowds. But I will look at the videos. Thanks for sharing in something I might not other wise have seen.

It's amazing to feel the energy generated at these rallies. It just shows how important it is to live in a real democracy where opposing points of views are permitted. To be honest, I'm going to miss this election cycle very much when it comes to an end. It's been very eye-opening. Lloyd
