Islam, by definition means peace. But how far is it attacked? Is it self inflicted by the followers of Islam? Or is it constant barage of negativity from outside giving fodder for attack? I would like to know your opinions - thanks

Actually some of the IRA people have been called terrorists, and our counter-terrorism units have been working against them for years. Our people have helped other counter-terror unit from other countries train to fight the IRA... As for the "peaceful" muslims, I don't see any of them standing up to fight against the "radicals", nor do I hear them publically telling them to stop. Seems to me that the ones who are against this behavior would be taking some actions to try to prevent it.

Your opening statement is in error. Islam by definition does not mean peace, it means submission. Islam brings the negative perception people have of it on itself. While Mohamed got off to a good start by unifying the desert tribes it all fell apart in the next generation. The schism between Sunni and Shia lies at the root of many of the problems. With each sect claiming that the other is not Moslem Islam finds itself at war with itself. I guess it is natural for a religion founded by a warlord to seek solutions to its problems in violence but bombing and killing each other does not present a very pretty picture to the rest of the world.

well it is really under attack. even our national security believed that in on of his forum (some students walk out to protest)he said that islam is the source of terrorism that's why muslims are bombing the people. these people are very sick! i feel very bad for our muslim brothers and sisters. though i am not a muslim but still i believe that people are free to believe in what they want to believe, with out hurting others.

Do you know Islam is a 2nd biggest followers in this earth after christian.2nd place will described us how big and influenced Islam on this earth. But unfortunately Islam only was exposed as a terrorism and a few agenda that show how bad Islam. Muslims people also a human being .They're attacked it ,when so many of them was hurted without any reason.I think that's a normal for human to be defensive when in danger.Islam also teach their followers to love and respects theirs muslims relatives and anyone not muslims but also their enemies. I think terrorism happens because they're felt angry , not satisfy , revenged and maybe was hurt , totally hurt.Sometimes we can't understand why they're wiling to do that , killing a lot of people was not guilty.I'm always asking myself why they wiling to do , and i got my answer it's really hurts, they're really hurt. That's my opinion..I was lucky coz i live in country was Islam as a official religion but still can live in harmony and peace together with different religion followers that was also free to practice their own religion .No doubt Islam is a peace.
