If you have to edit a lot of photos at the same time, I'd recommend using Adobe Lightroom. It's a photo editing program made especially for photographers. It's great for editing large batches of photos. You may find it easier and less time consuming to use that Photoshop.
Most photographers I know use Photoshop. The ones that don't use Photoshop usually use Picasa. If you're not satisfied with Photoshop, you may want to give Picasa a go!
Have you had any training in Photoshop, or are you entirely self-taught? If you're doing it all yourself, you may want to take a class in Photoshop, or pick up a how-to Photoshop guide book at the library! Photoshop can be intimidating at first because there is so much you can do with the program! But once you learn how to do just the things you want to do, then it becomes a lot easier!

I use Photoshop elements 3 and 6. I find it easy and very effective. For example if you are shooting in the bright sunlight and the photos appear to be washed out you can correct the batch in one simple operation called "Processing Multiple Files". It will adjust the levels, color, contract or do a "smart fix". I like it and find it a very powerful tool that is easy to use.

well i don't find it difficult to edit a pic but i don't really edit my pictures that every thing will change. as much as possible i only crop the pic and put a water mark on it. it is a insult to my artistry.
