For the sake of many pilipinos YES! Many pilipinos want to go to US for work. If the philippines will become a state of US, we dont need to work outside the country. Also, the corruption is eliminated. Being a state of US, has an advantage and disadvantages; The disadvantages are; -Losing our dignity to lead our country. -Divorce will be legalized. -National threat from US enemies. -Our country is controlled by US government. The Advantages are; -Corruption in the philippines is ended. -Boosting of philippine economy. -Natural Resources of the philippines use correctly. -Open visa between philippines and US. -Benefits of pilipino soldiers will become better. -Useful advance military equipment is available. -Good individual benefits of every citizen. -Unemployed citizen will be minimized. -Protecting our country against invader. It's up to you which choices do you want, Become a part of US or not. Make sure your choices is correct base on the advantage and disadvantages of being the state of US. nice discussion.. people in the philippines just doesn't realize how blessed it is to be a filipino citizen. i've come across foreigners and it saddens me because they all have their own complaints about their country. whether european, mideast, asians, americans, australians, etc. philippines isn't perfect. so as other nation. but for us to be a state of America, believe me... someday, you'll say that i wish we're not part of them. filipinos are very competitive, in all aspect. many nations come to respect filipinos because of their ingenuity. we are very resourceful and hardworking. most of us (not all) are trustworthy. we care so much about our fellowmen. other nations aren't. no one will be there for you when you're down. that's why so many of them suffer depression. in the philippines, people are nosy.. LOL! and most people are happy... :D i just think that if ever we're part of a big nation like USA, all of these values wouldn't be instilled in us! :)

To tell everyone honestly. Sa daming naghihirap sa bansa natin. Dahil sa walang humpay na pagnanakaw ng gobyerno sa ating bayan. Mas pipiliin ko nalang na ang Pilipinas ay maging isa sa estado ng America. Sa ganitong paraan, mas mapapaigi ang katayuan ng bawat Pilipino sa ating bansa. Kalimutan yan mga pride-pride na yan. Kung ang kapalit naman, kumakalam na sikmura ng ating mga kababayan. Isa pa, hindi rin ako proud as a filipino. Dahil, nahihiya aq na sa dinami-dami nating mga Pilipino mas pinipili pa ng nakararami na sa ibang bansa maglingkod (magtrabaho). Bakit? Dahil kung dito ka sa Pilipinas magta-trabaho, puti na buhok mo. Mahirap ka pa rin. Kayod kalabaw kana kumakalam pa sikmura ng pamilya mo. Ano pipiliin nyo? kaginhawaan para sa ating mga kababayan o yang magmamagaling ng iilan pero ang kapalit ay pagdurusa ng mga Pilipino. Naaawa ako sa mga batang hindi nagaaral, hindi marunong bumasa at sumulat. Wala na rin ako kompiyansa sa kahit sinong politikong tatakbo o balak magpatakbo ng bansa. Dahil lahat yan, iisa ang gusto. Ibulsa ang pera ng bansa at gatasan ang mamayang Pilipino para sa pampersonal na interest. Wag sana kayo magagalit sakin.

I am not against of America, besides i would like to go to America. But, in terms of making the Philippines be part to America is another story. I agree that the Philippines is left behind economically and also with the technologies. But i beleive that Philippines is one of the best place to live. And i know that Filipinos are starting to shine and be known in our different ways. Philippines is now globally competetive in terms of our products and with our OFWs. I believe that Philippines can stand alone coz' Filipinos are talented and smart enough.

In my opinion, i don't want that Philippines will be the state of America. Our heroes and great ancestors fight for our freedom and then we going to waste those sacrifices of life for our country. Philippines will be stay independent country no matter what happen.

I do not want that not even a wish. Our country is much better off independent from others. Even though we are economically behind and experience the "bad" effects of that, but yet Filipinos survive the hardship, it's what we call our Filipino Ingenuity in times of crisis. And do you like to memorize another NAtional Anthem and Pledge of Loyalty? :)
