I do not have a lot of money this year and I know that times are going to get tighter. So I have about 8 pounds of scented candle melt and pour wax and the wicks. I was thinking I would make some candles for family members for Christmas. This is awesome wax. I have several candles made from it and they burn forever.
I do not know how I will do them though, in jars or just use molds.

I think that would be a wonderful idea! I have thought about doing that myself but I don't know much about making candles. I think that homemade gifts can be better than store boughten gifts because you can tell that the giver put some special time and thought into it.

I think it is a great idea and I know that for me personally a handmade gift by a loved one would be the nicest thing I could ever get. I think it just says so much more than something shop bought, it is like the person has put real time and effort into their gift so you do it they will be loved by all that receive them!

Hi sweetpeasmom..
I think this is a fabulous idea. I guess it's a nice cheap gift to give to your family members. Hmmm... I think it would look nice in a shaped container or you can use molds. I guess it would depend on the taste of the person you're giving the gift to.

When we were first married we had NO money to spare. In fact for our first Christmas together I bought my husband a band for his wrist watch, that is how broke we were. But I am very handy and that year I baked up a storm and gave people their favorite cookies. I have given all sorts of craft that were home made in those early years also. I do think SOME people appreciate those kind of things. Some do not, but I did not care. It sounds like a lovely gift. Put some special flourish on the jar to make it special, and who knows, they might like it so much you start getting orders for them!

Hi sweetpeasmom,
This is just my personal opinion, and I am sure not everyone will agree, but, here goes...
I would much rather receive a gift that someone put time and effort into than a gift they spent 5 minutes picking out at the store.
To me, hand made gifts mean so much more. And candles are wonderful gifts, whether handmade or not!
